The Greater Los Angeles VA Healthcare System is seeking a Staff Psychologist for our Community-Based Outpatient Clinic in Santa Maria, CA, where dedication to providing exceptional care to our nation's veterans is the standard. As a Staff Psychologist within our team, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of those who have served our country. In this role, the psychologist will also provide adjunctive interventions for treating medical disorders and collaborate with medical center staff on various patient care matters. Additionally, staff psychologists may engage in program coordination, evaluation, teaching, training, and research activities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide brief intervention services, including psychoeducation, supportive therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness-based interventions.
• Coordinate care and provide case management and other ancillary functions.
• Comply with operational policies, performance measures, and CPRS documentation procedures.
• Provide psychological services to veterans who are homeless, in transitional housing, and newly housed through VA housing programs.
• Function as a member of an interdisciplinary team, offering support through morning huddles, curbside consultations, and interdisciplinary team meetings.
• Offer both individual and group psychotherapy, typically employing Evidence Based Practices (EBPs), to treat substance use disorders, serious mental illness, PTSD, and other psychiatric conditions.
Work Schedule: M-F, 8:00am-4:30pm (some flexibility considered)
Qualifications:
• U.S. Citizen
• Must have a Doctoral Degree in Psychology must be APA, PCSAS, or CPA accredited.
• Must have completed an APA or CPA accredited psychology internship
• Current unrestricted license from any state
o Unlicensed hires must obtain a full, unrestricted license within 2 years hire date.

Benefits:
• Salary Range: $104,219 - $193,106 (Final determination based on qualifications)
• PTO: 50–55 days of PTO annually (26/13 days of annual/sick leave, 11 holidays)
