This inpatient psychiatric facility maintains a total capacity of 150 beds, comprising 120 beds dedicated to short-term acute care with an average length of stay of 5 to 13 days and 30 beds designated through the state department for longer-term care. The facility operates within a structured multidisciplinary framework that includes clinical, legal, and forensic collaboration to support comprehensive psychiatric care delivery. Support staff on site includes 4 RNs and 2 office staff members.
Massachusetts offers clinicians on assignment access to a range of regional attractions and year-round activities suited to varied interests. The state features outdoor recreation opportunities, cultural venues, historical sites, and community events distributed across its diverse regions. Clinicians will find options for both active and leisure pursuits throughout their time on assignment.
The psychiatrist will conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, evaluations, and psychological testing to support the diagnostic process on a full-time day shift schedule of 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break; a part-time option of 24 hours per week is also available. Clinical responsibilities include identifying behavioral and emotional patterns, initiating and participating in treatment team risk assessments, and maintaining documentation utilizing the hospital electronic medical records system. The clinician will collaborate with a multidisciplinary treatment team, the Department of Mental Health clinical team, independent forensic review evaluators, and unit attorney, court liaison staff, and the legal system, while monitoring the legal status of patients and providing updates to the treatment team. Additional responsibilities include providing individual and group therapy as needed and delivering staff training when called upon; no call coverage is required for this position.
