This large adult correctional facility provides psychological services to a diverse and clinically complex inpatient population. The facility supports clinicians in delivering diagnostic assessments, psychological evaluations, crisis intervention, treatment planning, individual and group therapy, suicide risk assessment, and competency-related services. Clinical operations are structured within an established correctional mental health framework to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
The surrounding region offers a range of cultural and outdoor attractions suited to varied interests. Visitors may explore destinations such as the Musical Instrument Museum, the Desert Botanical Garden, and the Phoenix Art Museum, as well as outdoor recreation areas including South Mountain Park, which features over 50 miles of hiking trails. Additional options include golf courses, spa and wellness facilities, shopping, family-oriented venues, and guided experiences throughout the Sonoran Desert landscape.
The clinical psychologist will provide full-time, on-site psychological care to an adult inpatient population within a correctional setting, working a guaranteed weekday schedule of either 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Daily responsibilities include evaluating referrals from clinical staff, providing individual psychotherapy and counseling, conducting mental status and suicide risk assessments, and determining the appropriate level of care or observation as clinically indicated. The clinician will coordinate referrals to psychiatry and other appropriate professionals as needed. No call coverage is required for this position.
