Job description

We are seeking a Board-Certified Psychiatrist for an Emergency Psychiatry locum tenens opportunity in Dallas, Texas.

Assignment Details
Location: Dallas, TX
Start Date: September 14, 2026
Schedule: Any 2 nights per week, Tuesday–Saturday
Shift Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Practice Setting:
Emergency Psychiatry Service
EMR: Epic
Adult patient population with occasional psychiatric consultations for pediatric patients in the main Emergency Department
Providers assigned to Psychiatric Emergency Units manage up to 10 patients per shift
Consult service averages 5–6 patients during a 12-hour shift

Practice Environment:
Two dedicated Psychiatric Emergency Units
Psychiatric consult team supporting the main Emergency Department
Fast-paced emergency psychiatry setting with strong interdisciplinary support

Requirements:
Board Certified Psychiatrist
Emergency Psychiatry experience preferred
Active Texas license preferred
Local providers will receive priority consideration

Additional Information:
No call responsibilities
Flexible schedule with only two shifts per week required
Ongoing coverage need in a high-volume academic emergency psychiatry environment
