Psychiatry ER Locums Opportunity – Dallas, TX

Job description

Highlights:
• Consistent overnight schedule with no call requirements
• Work onsite in a dedicated Psychiatric Emergency Services environment
• EPIC EMR and multidisciplinary support team

Opportunity Details

Location: Dallas, TX

Schedule:
• 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Any 2 shifts per week, Tuesday through Saturday
• No call required
• Provider remains onsite during shifts

Practice Details:
• Adult psychiatric patient population
• Occasional psychiatric consultation for pediatric patients in the Main ED
• Two Psychiatric Emergency Units and one Psychiatric Consult Team
• Providers assigned to psych ER units manage a maximum of 10 patients per shift
• Consult team averages 5–6 patients during a 12-hour shift
• EPIC EMR

Responsibilities:
• Initial and follow-up psychiatric evaluations
• Collaboration with multidisciplinary treatment teams
• Communication of recommendations to consulting services
• Psychiatric admissions and observation management
• Completion of involuntary psychiatric hospitalization paperwork
• Physician oversight responsibilities including restraint orders and required face-to-face evaluations
• Coordination of transfers between psychiatric and medical emergency services
• Consultation with hospital medicine and specialty services as needed

Requirements:
• Board-Certified Psychiatrist (Board Certification Required)
• Local providers strongly preferred
• Emergency Psychiatry experience preferred
• EPIC experience preferred
