Position Overview
Seeking a compassionate and clinically strong Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to serve as the onsite Medical Director for a high-acuity behavioral health program serving adolescents ages 10β17.

Leadership & Administrative Responsibilities
π©Ί Serve as the onsite Medical Director
π©Ί Majority of scheduled time dedicated to administrative oversight
π©Ί Supervision of full-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
π©Ί Lead weekly clinical meetings and complex case staffing discussions
π©Ί Complete time service orders and clinical oversight duties
π©Ί Provide support and guidance to multidisciplinary treatment teams
Clinical Responsibilities
When covering for the NP, provider must be comfortable managing direct patient care responsibilities, including:
β Up to 4 admits/discharges per week
β Average daily census: 70β90% of 40-bed CSU
β Typical patient volume: 10β12 patients/day
β Ages seen: 10β17 years old
β Evaluations may last up to 1 hour
β Daily CSU rounds average approximately 10 minutes per patient
β Average length of stay: 45β60 days
On-Call Expectations
π Full-time call coverage preferred
π Worst-case schedule: every other week
π Approximately 8 calls/week (24/7 coverage)
Call responsibilities include:
Authorizing transfers to the ED
Medication approvals
Clinical support for treatment staff
Support Staff
You will work alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team including:

Patient Population & Diagnoses
Experience treating adolescents with complex behavioral health needs is essential, including:
Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD)
Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities (IDD)
Autism Spectrum Disorder
PTSD
Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder (DMDD)
ADHD
Other behavioral and psychosocial stressors
Requirements
β Board Certified Psychiatry
β Child & Adolescent experience required
β Child Fellowship NOT required
β BC Adult Psychiatry with strong child/adolescent experience accepted
β Comfortable in both leadership and direct patient care settings
