Locum Psychiatrist Opportunity – Adult Outpatient Psychiatry | Athens, GA

Job description

A community behavioral health organization in the Athens, Georgia area is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Psychiatrist (MD/DO) for a part-time outpatient opportunity serving adult patients. This is a clinical-only role with a supportive multidisciplinary team and flexible scheduling.

Schedule: Part-time, 3 days per week onsite
Hours: Flexible scheduling with clinic hours extending to 7:00 PM
Patient Population: Adults (18+)
Patient Volume: Approximately 8 patients per day
Start: Early to mid-summer 2026
Assignment Length: Through late fall 2026
Credentialing: 2–3 weeks

Provide outpatient psychiatric evaluations and medication management
Deliver high-quality psychiatric care to adult patients
Collaborate with an established multidisciplinary behavioral health team
Practice Support
100% clinical role with no administrative responsibilities

MD or DO
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
Active Georgia license preferred
Enrollment with Georgia Medicaid and Medicare required
