Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide expert psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for a diverse patient population across outpatient and inpatient settings. Your expertise will help improve mental health outcomes by delivering comprehensive, evidence-based care, including medication management and psychotherapy. Responsibilities
Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including patient history, mental status examinations, and risk assessments to develop individualized treatment plans.
Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications while ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory guidelines.
Provide psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), supportive therapy, or other evidence-based approaches tailored to patient needs.
Collaborate with primary care providers, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate holistic patient care.
Manage urgent psychiatric crises, including de-escalation techniques and emergency interventions when necessary.
Document all clinical encounters accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks, maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, medication side effects, and self-care strategies to promote recovery and resilience.
Skills
Proven experience working with diverse populations including children, geriatrics, or individuals with developmental disabilities.
Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology, including medication administration and monitoring for efficacy and side effects.
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for efficient documentation.
Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop personalized treatment plans based on clinical evaluation.
Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and patient education.
