About the Opportunity

A long-standing, mission-driven nonprofit Community Mental Health Center with nearly 50 years of service is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) for a full-time LOCUMS assignment. This role offers 100% telepsych flexibility, strong clinical support, and the ability to serve a diverse, underserved population.

Position Details

• Setting: Outpatient Community Mental Health

• Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week

• Hours of Operation:

  • Mon–Thurs: 8:00a–7:00p

  • Fri: 8:00a–5:00p

  • Sat: 9:00a–1:00p (optional)

• Flexibility: Build your own schedule within operating hours

• Start: ASAP upon credentialing

• Location: Upstate NY (remote, onsite, or hybrid)

Clinical Scope

• Population: Lifespan

  • ~60% adults

  • ~40% children & adolescents

• Services:

  • Medication management

  • Psychiatric evaluations

• Volume:

  • 2–5 initial evaluations/week

  • Majority follow-up visits

• Support:

  • Extensive intake team handling pre-screening and case preparation

  • Dedicated collaboration time with psychiatrists and fellow providers

• Onboarding: Structured ramp-up with reduced caseload

Compensation & Terms

• Independent Contractor (1099)

• Competitive hourly rate

• Weekly pay

• Malpractice insurance provided

• No call, no weekends required (unless optional Saturday hours desired)

Requirements

• Active New York PMHNP license

• Experience with telepsychiatry preferred

• Comfortable treating both adults and youth

• Ability to work independently within a supportive team model
