Faculty Position in Neuroimaging of Addiction Biolog

  • The Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Neurosciences (DPBN) at Wayne State University is inviting applications at the junior faculty level for a position in neuroimaging of addiction biology. The faculty position includes a tenure-track appointment and a highly competitive package
  • Though the primary appointment will be in DPBN, a campus-wide interdisciplinary focus is expected, allowing for the development of collaborative research with potential colleagues in Psychology, Pharmacology, Pediatrics, Neurology and the integrative Biosciences (iBio) center at Wayne State University. Within DPBN, strong areas of research focus include substance abuse, addiction, trauma and related stress disorders, psychosis, pediatric disorders and the application of innovative Magnetic Reson

PSYCHIATRIST  JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities will include conducting exemplary interdisciplinary research in addiction biology with the expectation of securing continuous extramural research funding. Additional responsibilities will include educating/mentoring trainees at all levels (graduate and medical students, fellows and residents).  
 
Qualifications The ideal candidate will be expected to have a PhD in Neuroscience, Psychology, or related field, and an emerging career in human addiction research, with expertise and/or experience in the application of multiple imaging modalities to the applicant's research including structural Magnetic Resonance Imaging (sMRI), Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (MRS), functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) and positron emission tomography (PET). Early career funding from NIH is highly desirable.
