Position Overview
We are seeking a Psychiatrist or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join a well-established outpatient behavioral health team. This role offers a collaborative, integrated care environment with a predominantly adult patient population and a healthy work-life balance.
Practice Highlights
Outpatient setting
Patient population ages 16+, with the majority of the caseload consisting of adults (18+)
Average of 8–12 patients per day
60-minute initial evaluations
20-minute follow-up appointments
No nights
No weekends
No call responsibilities
Responsibilities
Conduct psychiatric evaluations and medication management visits
Develop and implement treatment plans
Complete documentation and charting in a timely manner
Respond to messages from Primary Care Providers and Behavioral Health team members
Complete prior authorizations as needed
Participate in weekly interdisciplinary team meetings, particularly for PMHNP providers
Collaborate within an integrated care model to support patient outcomes
Qualifications
✔ Active, unrestricted Pennsylvania license
✔ Clean background history
✔ Board Eligible or Board Certified preferred, but not required
✔ Pennsylvania Medicare and Medicaid enrollment required
Insurance Mix
Approximately 60% Medicaid/Medical Assistance
Approximately 40% Commercial Insurance
Major payors include UPMC, Blue Cross, and Aetna
Reporting Structure
The selected provider will report directly to the Behavioral Health Director.
