This full-time, on-site inpatient position requires a board-certified geropsychiatrist to manage a census of 16 geriatric psychiatry patients in a community hospital setting, with an average length of stay of 16 days. Clinical responsibilities include medication adjustments for conditions such as depression, anxiety, psychosis, bipolar disorder, and dementia-related behaviors, as well as capacity evaluations and management of delirium versus dementia. The clinician will implement behavioral interventions prior to escalating medications and will participate in family meetings to address diagnosis, prognosis, and discharge planning. Call coverage is required, and the clinician will collaborate with 2 APPs on staff.
