Aya Locums is seeking a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to provide ongoing inpatient coverage at a behavioral health facility in California. Assignment Details
• Start Date: September 2026
• Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Coverage + Call
• Schedule Requirement: Facility is seeking a provider who can cover 2 weekends per month, along with the following Monday and Tuesday
• Shift Types: Days, Nights, Weekends
• Monday/Tuesday Schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM onsite, followed by overnight call coverage until 8:00 AM
• Weekend Schedule: Rounding beginning at 8:00 AM (approximately 6 hours), followed by call coverage through 8:00 AM the next day
• Call Expectations: Providers will be responsible for admission orders for accepted patients arriving during call coverage

• Coverage Model: Scheduled Clinical Care with Night and Weekend Call Responsibilities
• Team Environment: Multidisciplinary treatment team focused on adolescent behavioral health and recovery
Skills & Experience
• Board Certified in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (CAP) preferred, or Board Certified in General Psychiatry with completed Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship
• Strong clinical knowledge of psychiatric diagnoses, treatment planning, psychopharmacology, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions
• Experience treating children and adolescents in acute or inpatient psychiatric settings
• Ability to develop individualized treatment plans while collaborating with families, guardians, and care teams
• Experience managing complex adolescent behaviors using therapeutic and de-escalation techniques
• Leadership experience guiding multidisciplinary teams and coordinating patient care
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
• Ability to provide culturally responsive care across diverse populations
• Knowledge of legal, educational, safeguarding, and regulatory considerations related to adolescent psychiatric treatment
Requirements
• Active Board Certification as outlined above
• Experience working with adolescent psychiatric populations
• Ability to participate in overnight and weekend call coverage
• Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 60–90 days
