Step into a vital role within KernBHRS, supporting the behavioral health needs of Medi-Cal recipients and uninsured youth. As a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist, you'll provide trauma-informed psychiatric care, collaborate closely with schools and juvenile justice systems, and help guide at-risk children toward better futures.

βœ… Key Responsibilities
βœ”οΈ Conduct ADHD diagnostic evaluations using tools like the Vanderbilt scales, and support school-based 504/IEP accommodations
βœ”οΈ Manage medications for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), such as aripiprazole for irritability, while partnering with ABA therapists
βœ”οΈ Perform court-ordered forensic evaluations, including assessments of parental competency and trauma-induced dissociative symptoms
βœ”οΈ Supervise Child Psychiatry Fellows in handling crisis intervention and managing self-harm and suicidal ideation cases
βœ”οΈ Partner with educators, social workers, and juvenile courts to build holistic support plans for youth

βœ… What We’re Looking For
βœ”οΈ Active California Medical License
βœ”οΈ Board Certification or Eligibility in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
βœ”οΈ ABPN Certified
βœ”οΈ DEA Certified

βœ… Schedule Options
Full-Time (FTE)
βœ”οΈ 8-hour day shifts
βœ”οΈ Includes 10–12 med management appointments, 3–5 court evaluations per week
βœ”οΈ Afternoon hours prioritized for school collaboration

Part-Time (PTE)
βœ”οΈ 4–6 hour shifts, typically 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
βœ”οΈ Ideal for school-based and residential care visits
