Role Overview
Gallant Business Solutions is seeking Licensed Behavioral Health Professionals to support the Maryland
Department of Juvenile Services (DJS) within secure juvenile detention facilities across Baltimore and
surrounding jurisdictions.
This role is mission-critical and impact-driven, serving youth with complex behavioral, emotional, and
mental health needs. The ideal clinician is grounded, resilient, clinically sharp, and comfortable
operating in structured, high-accountability environments.
This is a temp-to-permanent role, with the expectation that high-performing clinicians transition to
permanent status after approximately five (5) months.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide individual therapeutic services and clinical assessments to a caseload of approximately
8–12 youth
• Conduct suicide risk screenings within 2 hours of admission
• Complete psychosocial intake assessments, including MAYSI-2, within 24 hours of admission
• Maintain daily suicide watch monitoring and conduct daily visits when youth are on suicide
precautions
• Review and document housing classifications within 24 hours
• Conduct follow-up assessments related to prior victimization within 14 days
• Deliver individual, group, and family engagement services, including supportive counseling (45–60
minutes, at least biweekly)
• Facilitate weekly psychoeducational groups (minimum one hour)
• Complete all required documentation accurately and within required timeframes
• Complete same-day documentation for seclusion observations and crisis behavioral health
referrals
• Participate in scheduled clinical team meetings
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary facility staff to ensure continuity of care
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support clinical operations
Required Education & Licensure
• Master's degree in counseling, Psychology, or Social Work
• Active Maryland clinical license in good standing, including:
o LCSW-C
o LMSW
o LGPC
o LCPC
Required Experience & Competencies
• Minimum 3 years of counseling experience
• Prior experience working with children and adolescents
• Experience in juvenile justice, detention, residential, or secure settings strongly preferred
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care and adolescent development
• Strong clinical judgment, documentation skills, and crisis response capability
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Reliable transportation required
• Ability to work independently while maintaining accountability to clinical standards
