We are seeking a Psychiatrist to join the team at the Telecare El Dorado County Psychiatric Health Facility (PHF), a 16-bed locked inpatient hospital providing acute psychiatric care to adults (18+) with serious mental illness. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative, mission-driven environment delivering high-impact care to a vulnerable population.
Both Independent Contractor and W-2 Employee options are available, offering flexibility based on your preferences.

Conduct psychiatric evaluations, assessments, and diagnoses
Develop and manage individualized treatment plans
Provide medication management and ongoing clinical care
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care
Complete timely and accurate documentation
Participate in treatment team meetings and care coordination
Qualifications
MD or DO, Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
Active or eligible for California medical license
DEA license (active or eligible)
Experience in inpatient or acute psychiatric settings preferred
Strong clinical and communication skills

Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments for adult patients (18+)
Develop, implement, and manage individualized treatment plans
Provide medication management, including initiation and monitoring of psychotropic medications
Deliver daily clinical care in an acute inpatient setting
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (nursing, therapists, case managers) to coordinate patient care
Participate in treatment team meetings and discharge planning
Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation
Manage crisis situations and provide stabilization for high-acuity patients
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and care teams
Adhere to all facility policies, regulatory requirements, and quality standards
Qualifications

MD or DO from an accredited medical school
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
Active or eligible for a California medical license
Active DEA license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
Experience in inpatient, acute, or crisis psychiatric settings preferred
Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic skills
Ability to manage high-acuity patients in a fast-paced environment
