Inpatient Psychiatry Opportunity – Anchorage, Alaska

Position Overview
Role: General Psychiatrist
Board Status: Board Eligible (must be within 5 years of residency); Board Certification not required
Setting: Inpatient (Adult – acute + long-term care)
Schedule
Hours: 40 hours/week
Days: Monday–Friday
Time: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Patient Load & Facility
Average Caseload: 10–14 patients/day
Facility Size: 80-bed hospital
Length of Stay (Acute): 7–10 days
Conditions Treated:
Depression
Schizophrenia
Bipolar Disorder
Psychosis
Trauma-related disorders
Call Responsibilities
Weeknight Call:
From home
Typically 0–10 calls per night
Weekend Call:
On-site rounding (approx. 3–4 hours)
Remainder on call from home
Cover full hospital
~4–5 notes for crisis/private insurance patients
Compensation Notes:
2 hours gratis for in-house work
Callback pay applies thereafter
Team Structure
2 Psychiatrists on staff
Support includes:
Social workers
Therapists
Nurses
Primary care physicians
Assignment Details
Minimum Commitment: 3 months (6 months preferred)
Credentialing Timeframe: ≤ 30 days
EMR System: MEDITECH
Licensing
Open to candidates needing an Alaska license
Alaska license preferred
